Pumpkin Patch

We went with some neighbors to the Pumpkin Patch today. Kaylee loved playing in the "corn" and finding her way through the corn maze. She was even able to pick her very own pumpkin. She was very excited! Simeon enjoyed trying to eat the hay and dirt.

6 months

Simeon is 6 months old now! Where has the time gone? This little guy has a smile that lights up a room. His bright blue eyes look right through you. He loves sitting up on his own, pulling Kaylee's hair, and grabbing for anything that he can get his hands on.

Trip to the Zoo

We spent Labor Day at Hogle Zoo. It was the first time we've taken the kids. Kaylee loved watching all of the animals, having a picnic and riding on the train. It was a perfect day for her. Simeon loves being with his dad and being outside so it was a great day for him too.

Our New Home

We moved to Springville this summer. We are loving our new place and enjoying getting settled in.

Kaylee and Simeon

Kaylee likes to have her foot measured to Simeon's. She loves to hold his hand too! Simeon doesn't love it as much.

Sidewalk Chalk

Kaylee loves everything about summer time and being outside. This week was her first time using sidewalk chalk. She loved it. The chalk was not just on the sidewalk when the night was over, it was all over her too.

Simeon's Baby Blessing

We had Simeon's baby blessing on Sunday. It was nice to have so many family and friends enjoy our special day with us. Simeon is two months old now and getting so big. He hit 12 lbs. at his well check. He looks a lot like his dad. We love having him in our family!

Simeon Gregory Brooks

Introducing the newest member of our family - Simeon! He was born on Sunday, April 3rd. He weighed 7 lbs. and 2 oz. and was 20 inches long. We are glad to have him here. He is such a sweet little boy and good baby. You can see that he is already loved by his proud daddy and big sister.

Kaylee's new bed

Good bye to Kaylee's crib. We got her a "big-girl" bed in its place. She loves to play "on" it but sleeping "in it" is taking some time. The first week made me question my wisdom in wanting to do such a thing. We'd just get her down and she'd be back in our room. There is something to crib bars and staying put. We've now had two nights of her sleeping through the night. We want to get this down before we have a new baby to add to the mix.

Kaylee is 2!

Kaylee turned two this past week. She loved blowing out her candle and had to do it again and again. She loved opening presents... although she wasn't quite sure why she was getting them. When we say she is two, she repeats it, points to our fingers and continues on to three. What a cutie!

Trip to Oregon

We just got back from a vacation to Seaside, Oregon. It was so nice to get away for awhile and to have time as a family. Greg has been swamped at work and really needed a break. Kaylee was in heaven having so much "daddy" time. The beginning of our trip was rainy and foggy, but by the end of the week the sun came out allowing us to enjoy the beach.

We had a wonderful time learning the history of the area with the Lewis and Clark Trail, Marine Museums, Fort Stevens, the beautiful landscapes and the many different beaches lining the coast.

It was Kaylee's first time to fly and she did great. Lucky for us she loves airplanes. If you can imagine... no one wanted to sit by us on the flight home so she got her own seat. Dad's laptop and her "Elmo" video helped to pass the time.
